Routes to Work
The careers programme at LAE Tottenham is an 8 week programme of focused career learning across the summer term of Year 12. In 2018-19, it was divided into 7 strands, reflecting the most common career interests amongst our students.
The strands were:
- Engineering, manufacturing and processing
- Digital/Computing and Journalism/Publishing
- Science and Mathematics
- Academic, teaching and research
- Information Technology
- Government and public services
- Childhood development and youth work
The program is a combination of work-place visits, careers talks, work shadowing, independent research and specific projects which have been designed to help our students make informed choices about their post-18 options. This also supports them in having access to excellent careers guidance as well as allowing them to learn and experience first-hand the skills that are valued in the workplace.
The careers programme is in addition to the regular guidance and support available to students through our Careers Coordinator, Mr Onyido. Mr Onyido can be contacted on 0208 352 6038 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: The confirmed programme for 2019-20 will be shared below.
