Financial Support

At LAE Tottenham we are committed to ensuring that all students in our care, regardless of their socio-economic background, achieve the highest possible outcomes and can take full advantage of all the amazing opportunities that we offer. We are driven by a commitment to social mobility and widening access to higher education and career success. LAE Tottenham is able to financially support students in a number of ways dependent on their needs.

Free School Meals

The Free School Meals programme includes students in full-time post-16 education who meet the criteria set-out by the government. We encourage all families to apply for this support, irrespective of whether they believe they are eligible or not, to help us ensure all families are receiving the support they are entitled to during their time at LAET.

In order to be eligible the parent/carer, or the student in their own right, MUST be in receipt of ONE of the following:
  • Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
  • Qualified for Free School Meals in secondary school as a result of the parent / carer being entitled to Universal Credit
