The Cabinet Office Challenge and a visit to Number 10 Downing Street
On Friday 4th May, Ms Ryan and Mr Clark accompanied a group of 20 Economics and Politics students from LAE Tottenham to take part in the Cabinet Office Challenge in the grand surroundings of Admiralty House, Whitehall.
Supported by civil servants from government departments such as Health, Education and Defence, the students together with a small number from one of our partner schools, John Lyon School, pitched their budget proposals to 'the Chancellors'. Cristallia who is a current Year 12 student at LAE Tottenham ably fulfilled this role grilling the students on the merits of their proposals.
Students learned about the various pressures on ministers from not only the Chancellor but party political agendas and the wider economic environment.
To conclude the day, students were thrilled to find they had a bonus visit to Number 10 Downing Street!
