Launch of the LAE Tottenham Diploma and EPQ

We are delighted to announce that as of Thursday 11th January 2018, students at LAE Tottenham have been introduced to the LAET Diploma and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

What is the LAE Tottenham Diploma?

The aim of the diploma is to bring together all of our students’ hard work, acting as a summary of their personal development both within and beyond the curriculum. The diploma will also guide and direct students towards weaker areas of their 6th form portfolio.

The diploma will focus on 4 different strands, matching the key values of the school:

  1. Aspiration

  2. Endeavour

  3. Community

  4. Reflection

At the end of Year 12, students will present their folder in a formal way to their tutors. The top 20 students selected with the best folder of evidence will be invited to present their folders externally.

What is the Extended Project Qualification?

The extended project qualification is an additional option for study. It allows students to develop some of the essentials skills required for work and demonstrate an ability to work independently.

The EPQ requires commitment, independence and organisation. In addition, between 80 – 120 hours of work is required.

LAE Tottenham students are always encouraged to come out of their comfort zone and to challenge themselves in whatever way necessary. We are confident that the LAE Tottenham Diploma and EPQ will allow our students to do so as well as putting into practice the wider values of our school.
