Student Spotlight: Y13 Innovators Take On the Game Jam Challenge!
At LAET, our students are constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity, technology, and teamwork. Over the summer, a group of our Year 13 students took part in the global GMTK Game Jam - competing alongside nearly 40,000 developers worldwide who created over 10,000 games in just 96 hours.
What is a Game Jam?
A Game Jam is the video game industry's fast-paced version of a hackathon. Participants are given a strict deadline to build a fully functional game from scratch based on a central theme. Working against the clock, teams design art assets, compose sound effects, and write code, turning a rough concept into a polished, playable game through intense collaboration and rapid problem-solving.
Our Y13 Team & Outstanding Results
Our Year 13 team rose to the challenge with their creation, Time Strikes. Scoring impressive ranks across all criteria, their standout achievement was in the Narrative category, placing 660th out of over 10,000 entries worldwide!
