Catering, Menus & Allergen Care
At the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham, we are committed to providing nutritious, high-quality meals that support our students’ health, well-being, and academic focus. Our dining service offers balanced meal options designed to fuel students throughout the school day, prepared and served in line with national food standards.
How We Manage Food Allergies & Intolerances
We recognise that food allergies, intolerances, and specific dietary needs require careful management. Our catering team and school staff undergo regular internal training on food safety, allergen management, and cross-contamination prevention.
Our Operational Procedures:
- Staff Training: Catering personnel and supervision staff are trained to identify common food allergens and follow strict protocols during food storage, preparation, and service.
- Cross-Contamination Controls: Meals are prepared using standard hygiene practices to minimise the risk of allergen cross-contact.
- Kitchen Environment: Please note that all dishes are prepared in a commercial kitchen that handles common allergens (including gluten, nuts, dairy, soy, and eggs). While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment.
Updating Student Dietary Records:
To ensure student safety, all known allergies and dietary requirements must be logged with the school medical team. If your child’s medical profile or dietary needs change at any point during the academic year, please update us immediately by contacting the school directly via telephone (02083526020) or email (admin@laetottenham.ac.uk).

Important Notice: Students with severe or life-threatening allergies should discuss their dietary needs directly with our catering lead before ordering meals on site.
Meal Times & Lunch Accounts
Daily Dining Schedule:
- Breakfast: 8:00 AM - 8:50 AM
- Morning Break: 11:10 AM - 11:30 AM
- Lunch Service - Year 12: 12:30 PM - 13:30 PM
- Lunch Service - Year 13: 13:30 PM - 14:30 PM
Cashless Catering System:
LAET operates a cashless catering system for all food purchases across the academy.
- Account Top-Ups: Parents and carers can add funds to student lunch accounts online through our payment portal.
- Free School Meals (FSM): Students entitled to Free School Meals automatically receive a daily allowance credited to their account each morning. Unused daily balances do not roll over. The details of how to apply for FSM are emailed to all students' school email accounts on their first day of school.
