Celebrating Interfaith Week at LAET

This week, following Interfaith Week (9th–16th November), we were proud to host a special panel discussion that brought together voices from across our school community. The event was chaired by Dr Hugo Havranek, our Lead Philosophy and Religion teacher, and featured five staff members who each represented a different worldview: Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Atheism, and Christianity.

The questions posed to the panel were developed and presented by a student panel, drawing inspiration from across year groups and our newly formed Interfaith Committee. Their thoughtful questions reflected a shared desire to explore how different faiths and perspectives can coexist, and how dialogue can help us better understand one another.

The aim of the panel was clear: to build understanding across different religions and worldviews, foster inclusivity, and encourage open conversation among students. By hearing personal journeys and reflections from staff, students were able to engage with diverse perspectives in a way that was both meaningful and respectful.

We extend a huge thank you to the students who prepared and asked the questions, and to the staff members who generously shared their experiences and beliefs. Together, they created a space that was not only informative but also deeply inspiring, reminding us of the importance of dialogue in building a cohesive and inclusive school community.
